Bewildering Burrower

by mshrm

Here’s a monstrous coleopteran alternative, based loosely on a classic monster that shall remain nameless. They’re savage beetle-people, with bulging faceted eyes on the sides of their heads, four arms including two extra-large fighting claws, and huge mandibles. Anyone who looks in their eyes risks madness, ranging from disorientation up to full-on hallucinations. They use their Traps skill in conjunction with their Tunneling ability to set traps like pits and deadfalls; when improvising a trap from earth and stone, a DX roll gives them +2 on their Traps roll, or -1 on a failure.
